Woolworth’s Refurbishments

New Town, Eastland’s, Sorell, Lauderdale, Sandy Bay, Ulverstone, Huonville & Claremont, Tasmania

Woolworths have been implementing their new store fit out for a period throughout Australia. Macquarie Builders were successful in tendering and completing eight of these refurbishments at the Newtown, Eastland’s, Sorell, Lauderdale, Sandy Bay, Ulverstone, Huonville and Claremont stores. 

The scope of works included replacement of all surfaces and finishes in the bakery, deli, meat preparation, seafood and general trading floor. The checkout counters were replaced as well as work in the back of house and delivery areas. We also completed the refurbishment of amenities adjoining the Woolworths Sandy Bay store.

The stores remained trading throughout the process and special attention was made to health and safety and maintaining a tight program.  

All Woolworths’ projects required complex management of public zones during the construction and critical time management of the project deadlines.  One of these projects involved a 24 hour working day and 7 day week, demonstrating the project management and site management team’s ability to deliver outstanding results and flexibility.
